Product Information

Xor Crystal Polyester Resin is a clear, light-transmitting polyester resin that creates a bubble-free crystal clear mould.  These are moulds in which you can encapsulate prepared, natrual objects such as fish, lizards, beetles, butterflies, fresh flowers and other organic materials.  These object do not shrink or change colour so can be viewed in their orginal state.

Using Xor Polyester Resin:

· Xor Polyester Resin has a very fast working time so have all items and equipment available when beginning to casting process.

· Instructions are in German on leaflet provided, so Youtube is a good source of information and instructions on how to use.

· Mixing ratios vary from source to source but a general ratio seems to be 3gms of hardener to 100gms of the resin.

· Gloves and mask advised when using the resin, also, use only outdoors or in a well ventilated area as fumes from resin may cause dizziness.

· If casting an item that you wish to be set in the middle, ie. ‘floating ‘ in the centre of the block it will require 2 pours ( mix and pour half of your mixture, let set for 45-90 minutes (depending on size of casting), set the piece in the semi hardened resin and pour the other half of the resin on top(it is important to only mix half at a time as the resin will harden when mixed and left in prolonged contact with the air).

· If casting an item that has a lot of contours, be sure to cover in resin before setting the item into the container to minimise the possibility of air bubbles in the final casting
